To Deliver high-quality training for the Information and Communications Technology Diploma.

Website Evaluation

This particular page was part of a whole site devoted to deliver high-quality training and completion of the Information and Communications Technology Diploma (ICT). An ICT is a person who supports teaching, learning and a range of activities in education by the use of information and communication technologies. The site was developed in the United Kingdom. The targeted audience was mainly for the roles of Net Navigator, Information Consultant, Information Gatekeeper, Information Manager and Educator.

I found the information to be uncomplicated, accurate yet challenging in the promotion of reflection during the learning process. Direct link: http://www.ictl.org.uk/U1O3CG/index.htm
The page layout was straightforward with three colors (including black for the font) which made it easy to read. There was no need to scroll down on any page. The left menu bar kept the user on track on where he or she was but only at that particular unit, not in the whole site. The fact that it did not have graphics made it less distracting and easier to focus on the information. During the delivery of information, there were two types of exercises to secure the learning outcomes: Activities and Tasks. They were engaging by providing questions before going on to the next piece of information, even reviewing or giving samples from links to other sites for review. This gave the user an opportunity to reflect on prior knowledge, making it a productive learning experience.
The page did not provide a contact’s name or a date of creation, only an email address. In addition, updating was not a priority for the authors.
This page was valuable for the learning education of the 21st Century due to its simplicity in navigation but its complexity on the content delivery. It demanded a more proactive attitude from the user by making the learning stimulating, however, additional pages should be consulted to verify the current information presented since current updates were not present at the time of this evaluation. In conclusion, refreshing information and the acquisition of new knowledge in an interactive way were the goals you will discover by visiting this page.
