Movie Maker an old friend... but it is getting old.

I recently had to create a one minute video with music and transitions with titles for a Masters Degree Assignment. I had several programs to choose among free software and fine products on the market. I personally have a Mac and I thought in using iMovie. But I choose an old friend…Movie Maker. I gave it a chance one more time. I have been working with Movie Maker since I can remember. I have created school Movies, home movies, created short clips and also 2 hours movies. I still cannot stand the music that comes with it so I choose my own music. The interface is easy to use and understand. It has also a wide variety of formats on which the movie can be saved. Therefore I went for that same old program. If I had more time I would explore more with Adobe Premier or even Corel. But once again Movie Maker did the job for me this time… again!.

Easy digital story tool, difficult process.

I have been exposed to a lot of technology lately. Some of the editing software like iMovie, Moviemaker. I have quite used Photostory too. I always find Photostory3 easy to use. the complicated part for me was creating a well organized Digital Story. This time I had to learn about the process to create a Digital Story. The story script, the storyboard and the edition process. I found it more challenging creating the storyboard. The storyboard is a very important step. in the storyboard we can organize the secuence of events in a logical manner. There came the creativity side of making the movie. I thought that finding pictures was the difficult part but making a long story short was hard to do. Finally, I edited the movie in photostory and I did learned this time several limitations: when uploading music to the presentation there were limited editing tools. I was asked to use photostory but even though I knew their limitations I still think that it is a great tool easy to use to create great stories...just look at mine!

Using blogs following the protocols

I find myself learning about blogs and use them for.... yes...what for?. I recently found that there is a beautiful learning experiences that can happen using a blog as a class discussion. Do you other practical use in the classroom? what do you think the safety precautions anyone should have while owning a blog?
